Fireclay is clay that is coated with a glaze and then fired at an extremely high temperature which bonds the clay and glaze together. It can withstand heat more than twice as hot as cast iron. Fireclay sink walls are 1" thick and glazed on all exterior sides. Fireclay sinks are very chip and stain resistant and weigh 115 lbs. Most often faucets are wall or counter-mounted.
