Refinishing procedures vary depending on the composition of the item being restored. Sandblasting of cast iron, which has been painted, is the method of choice for items being completed at our shop. This will restore it to its' manufactured state. At this point there are choices about refinihing. The porcelain on an item is never sandblasted because it would destroy the piece. The porcelain would pitt, splinter, and fracture into many pieces.
Welding services are available when faucet holes are to be closed on an item. This is usually ordered when the faucet assembly extends from the wall or over the top ledge of the tub.

Restoration: Antique Footed & Pedestal Bathtubs, Pedestal & Kitchen Sinks, Kitchen Cabinets, and "Period Pieces" Such as Barber Chairs, Porcelain Table Tops, Radiators, Antique Ice Chests, Etc., Can be restored and Reglazed.

Sandblasting and Welding: The Exteriors of Antique Bathtubs can be sandblasted to remove the accumulated latex prior to the reglazing. Welding can also be done at our facility if an Antique Claw Foot Bathtub Requires the feet to be welded / secured to the tub or if fixture holes need to be welded closed.

Plating: Nickel, Chrome, Bronze, Copper, Brass, and Oil-Rubbed Bronze Plating is available for restoring the claw feet of antique tubs.

Clear Coating: An option available as a final sealer glaze to add depth and shine to the finish. It will increase the resistance to chemicals, abrasions, and overall durability.
